Position Summary: 



Systems Engineers at PRA Group play a critical role in our organization’s success.
You will administer all aspects of the production environment with a focus on analysis, performance improvement, and optimization. You will also conduct Certification and Accreditation tasks on systems, environments, and sites, and create/update all documentation associated with the C&A process.

At the Senior Systems Engineer level, technical proficiency in Enterprise Administration, Viso, security hardening procedures, Solarwinds, MAP Tool, Powershell scripting, and various analysis methodologies will also be required.PRA Systems Engineers engage with the design, deployment, management, administration, and documentation of the logical and physical infrastructure within a multivendor, domain environment.


To be successful in this role, you must possess understanding of how to design, deploy, manage, administer and document router, switch, and firewall configurations and be confident in all phases of physical and virtual server deployment, management, and administration.

Every day you will:

  • Monitor DCs, AD, system log monitoring and analysis, domain performance monitoring and tuning, and physical inspection of environment.
  • Perform status check of ESX servers, VM performance, resource utilization, and performance tuning.
  • Conduct physical inspections of server, log monitoring, subsystem analysis, and daily performance monitoring.
  • Complete active verification and validation of OS patch status, McAfee update status, functional status of the enterprise and its associated member systems, erasing media marked for destruction according to policy, and proper documentation and escalation of all events.
  • Administer all aspects of MS Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, domain, and security components.
  • Configure VMWare Enterprise Class features such as High Availability, Distributed Resource Scheduling, VMotion, vRealize Automation, and SVmotion.
  • Manage all aspects of the Production environment with a focus on analysis, performance improvement, and system optimization.
  • Execute due diligence in regards to data confidentiality, integrity and availability.
     
In addition to the above, a Senior Systems Engineer must also:

  • Meet and/or exceed Security Team standards in regards to standardization, best practices, and proactive data protection.
  • Verify IA compliance and a hardened security posture via custom system lockdown methodology, AD GPOs, security patch implementation, and real time virus protection installation.
  • Understand the output from troubleshooting complex Enterprise infrastructure issues from a macro view and implement solution from a micro view.
  • Design, create, and present custom in-house training for one-on-one and group training.
  • Possess management skills and periodically function as an alternate, for the active Team Manager.
  • Problem-solve in all areas of infrastructure management.
  • Collaborate with business units to define deliverables.
  • Work closely with business units to ensure client requirements and technical integration is achieved.

None

Professional Experience:
Associate Systems Engineers must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as either a systems administrator, virtualization administrator, AD administrator, or combination.
Senior Systems Engineers must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as either a systems administrator, virtualization administrator, AD administrator, or combination.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology preferred

Qualifications:
Strong Knowledge of:

  • Current systems and infrastructure technologies, both front-end and back-end technologies
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Router, switch, firewall, and security technologies
Strong exposure to:

  • VMware Infrastructure
  • Citrix
  • Microsoft Windows OS, Azure and O365
  • Linux OS
Experience in:

  • Variety of Server, Workstation, Router, Switch, and SAN technologies
  • Implementation of enterprise-class solutions in a Production environment

Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office environment with telephones, personal computers and printers in operation.  The office environment is an open work space with individual work stations configured in a team area. The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate. The incumbent may be required to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
