Position Summary: 

PRA Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Analyst-Strategy for its office in Norfolk, Virginia.

Job duties

•    Model complex problems to discover insights and to identify opportunities using statistical, mining and visualization techniques.  5%
•    Propose innovative ways to look at problems by using data mining approaches on the set of available data and shall validate finding using an experimental and iterative approach. 7%
•    Manage the data collection process for internal and external data source relevant to key strategies. 8%
•    Develop and automate process to execute business strategy to drive operational profits.  Measure the process to ensure the desired outcome. Adjust and update processes as needed. 10%
•    Use basic test/control methodology like lift over control to find out the lift in conversion to measure the performance of a targeting model at predicting or classifying cases as having an enhanced response measured against a random choice targeting model. 12%
•    Working with third party vendors to identify, prioritize and achieve improvements in profitability, compliance, productivity and data quality. 8%
•    Assist in evaluating third party vendor products to determine which product is best suited for company business in acquiring consumer’s information (skip tracing) and this requires coordinating with operations department. 10%
•    Create and deliver management reports and dashboards to management team with a focus on providing actionable insights. 10%
•    Analyze, identify and communicate trends and issues impacting the business on an ongoing basis and make recommendations. 10%
•    Manage and troubleshoot to resolution any specific data discrepancy issues identified within business systems. 8%
•    Collecting feedback from business partners, evaluate current processes and assess their effectiveness. 2%
•    Requires working in an agile environment and knowledge about Software development life cycle. 5%
•    Work closely with IT teams to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound intelligence assessments by conveying requirements to IT agile teams and test their work against acceptance criteria. 5%

Job Requirements: 

•    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or Business Administration. 
•    2 years working in an Agile environment,
•    2 years writing and analyzing complex database (SQL) queries in both Oracle and SQL server,
•    Data preparation and visualization/presentation, 
•    Software skills necessary to support creation of data visualizations (using business analytic/data visualization tools),
•    Statistical data analysis and use of data analysis tools, 
•    Experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches, and
•    Familiarity with tuning and performance optimization techniques.

Required Technical experience/skills:

•    Intermediate to advanced excel skills, 
•    Power BI or Tableau, 
•    Toad data modeler, Oracle, 
•    SQL developer data modeler, 
•    Variance analysis, 
•    SQL queries, 
•    SQL Stored procedures, 
•    data mapping, 
•    ERD, 
•    data modeling/data analysis, and
•    agile methodology tools.
Telecommuting/Work from home is available.

Work Environment:
