Position Summary: 

PRA Group, Inc. seeks Senior Testing Analyst to work at the company’s office in Schaumburg, Illinois. Will be responsible for leading all testing related activities within the Software Development Team for in-house application development and support. Will be responsible primarily for developing and executing test plans (including test data), test scripts and test cases based on business requirements documented during the software development process.
Will perform the following duties:

  • Participate in requirement walk through meetings (or any other project related meetings) to gain a thorough understanding of project goals, objectives and needs.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to design, modify and instruct on all testing standards, both from a life cycle perspective as well as from a process orientation.
  • Advise in the development of test strategy, thorough test plans, test specifications, test data files, test cases and/or test scripts based on defined testing standards.
  • Instruct and mentor others on test plan, design, creation and execution. Act as a SME accountable for the design of test models to facilitate analysis and defect detection.
  • Plan and conduct test plan inspections, document issues, and support resolutions of those issues, as well as facilitating inspections for others on a project-by-project basis.
  • Ensure adherence to project test activities to deliver consistent quality through providing guidance and/or acting as project management, process management and governance liaison across testing areas.
  • Demonstrate solid awareness and ability to communicate testing status.
  • Generate test reports on all projects assigned as a lead on.
  • Perform data analysis of executed test cases to ensure adherence to data structure and business requirements, integrity and traceability, as well as carrying out validation procedures to ensure that all system modifications meet end-user requirements and quality standards.
  • Lead in the development and implementation of enhanced testing techniques, practices and methodologies for an automated testing environment.
  • Design and lead others with process improvements within the test architecture.
  • Provide strategic direction on testing tool selection, benchmarking and support potential tool reviews.
  • Provide support and guidance to others on team for more complex data analysis issues.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent foreign degree.
  • Five years of experience in testing for application development, where the following were gained:
    • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and how automated testing fits into the SDLC.
    • Good understanding of business requirement analysis as well as the system testing, including Integration, Functional, System, Smoke, Regression and User Acceptance testing.
    • Working knowledge of development and testing methodologies.
    • Knowledge of SQL with the ability to generate basic queries for testing.
    • Experience in utilizing applicable quality standards for testing.
    • Proficiency with industry software testing tools.
    • Basic knowledge of web applications and client/server systems.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
    • Communication skills sufficient to prepare detailed test plans and reports documenting test results and analysis. 

Occasional travel from the place of employment, PRA’s office in Illinois, to PRA’s headquarters in Virginia is required.
