Position Summary: 



This Junior level Network Engineer position will be independently responsible for identifying problem areas in the network and resolving them.
While assistance is available from senior members of the Data Center Team, we are seeking someone with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills who will not be dependent on others for guidance.
Any delay in resolution could adversely affect SLA’s with the Clients and could compromise Client Data Security-- this critical role requires an exceptional, high potential, early-career Network Engineer with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Supporting Network Infrastructure by making approved configuration changes to Network devices like: Switches, Routers, Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Load Balancers.
  • Performing troubleshooting analysis of Network Infrastructure for all PRA offices while working closely with one or more of the following groups: Other departments within the organization, IT staff in UK and Vendors/Service Providers
  • Provide technical assistance to rest of Network team members for trouble ticket completion and infrastructure configurations.
  • Documents network problems and resolution for future reference.
  • Identify areas of improvement and provide recommendations on improving Network Infrastructure.
  • Provide Inventory reports on Network devices.
  • Recommending improvements to enhance technical capabilities of the system and reduce operating costs.
  • Creating and Maintaining Work Instructions and SOPs.
  • Responsible for performing escalations to Vendors to resolve any issues beyond the scope of Data Center Network Team.
  • Participate in On-Call support rotation.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

Experience:
3+ years’ experience demonstrating the following:

  • Expertise in technologies like: Cisco Nexus Switches, Cisco Routers, Firewalls (ASA & Palo Alto), ISE, VPN, TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, QoS, VoIP.
  • Has experience with the following technologies– Palo Alto Firewall, F5 Load Balancers, Gigamon, Cisco ISE, NAC, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.
  • Use of Wireshark or any other sniffer software to troubleshoot network issues.
  • Network administration and monitoring using tools like - Solarwinds, Netflow, Envision, Cirrus.
  • Very strong analytical abilities and professional office/ enterprise experience required.

Education:

  • Relevant technical degree and/or equivalent experience
  • BS/BA Preferred

Certifications Desired:

  • CCNA
  • SNPA (Cisco ASA Firewall Associate)
  • CCSP/CCNP
  • R&S/CCNP Security
