Position Summary: 



The LEAN IT Specialist is the driving force for managing improvement initiatives across teams to deliver business benefits. This role is responsible for effectively identifying, analyzing & recommending lean activities as they pertain to IT and development initiatives; back end systems process change; and complying with and supporting PRA’s policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Communication and liaison with IT and senior staff throughout the organization to influence desired improvement outcomes is a key requirement for the role. The technical specialist will be required to champion and deploy business and technical process improvement methodologies and toolsets across the global organization; build capability through knowledge sharing and coaching; build the Business Process Improvement Team’s credibility by engaging effectively with stakeholders, deploying appropriate methodologies and toolsets and create and maintain a reputation as the internal consultant of choice by senior management for any problem solving or design initiatives.Key  Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Communicate cross-functionally at all levels within the company, including senior management.
  • Analyze systems & workflows driving the cross-functional team to implement change resulting in streamlined processes
  • Ensure Business Owners complete all tasks by acting as liaison for the Continual Improvement team and related cross-functional areas
  • Perform data analysis, prep work and follow through on all open action items required to successfully facilitate a Lean Kaizen event.
  • Identify and incorporate external best practices into Continual Improvement/Lean initiative.
  • Work with leadership to identify areas for Lean Kaizen events, establish goals and objectives for each event, create project charter and select cross functional team members and leaders.
  • Drive associates to establish and track/monitor business performance metrics to measure results and ensure continuous, sustainable improvement occurs across processes.
  • Proactively drive change and process improvements across all functional areas
  • Instill the Continual Improvement/Lean Kaizen approach of breakthrough improvements throughout the organization.
  • Help associates measure results of implemented improvements and communicate successes, along with identifying training needs and resources required to support continuous improvement activities.
  • Participate in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a technical role, i.e. Business Analyst, IT project management
  • Basic knowledge of LEAN techniques, including Value Stream Mapping, 5 Why’s, SIPOC, Root Cause Analysis, Kanban system, and Kaizen philosophy
  • Previous experience with developing and documenting processes
  • Persistent and “driven” motivator, proactive, goal orientated
  • Interpersonal, analytical, and teamwork skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office environment, in an individual work station, using telephone and computer.  Employee is required to work evenings and weekends as required.
