Position Summary: 



PRA's Associate Database Analyst converts business requirements to database logic ensuring that data is created or modified appropriately in the database. The Database Analyst participates in and coordinates the testing of modifications, and creates and maintains procedure documentation.
Key Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Evaluates detailed business requirements to identify upstream/downstream impacts to existing system processes. 
  • Demonstrates proficiency in SQL to perform data loads, data extracts and conversions. Can be used as a technical reference to explain and illustrate potential data, business, or compliancy issues.
  • Ability to develop SQL code independently for intermediate to moderately complex procedures in both Oracle and MSSQL Server environments.
  • Ensures the accuracy of data, before, during and after any/all data manipulations.
  • Ability to cope with changing priorities.
  • Extremely detail oriented – Ensure that analysis provides correct results.
  • Ensures that proper change management procedures are followed.
  • Ensures that projects are appropriately prioritized and documented.
  • Recommends process improvements to create technical and business efficiencies.
  • Mentors peers and subordinates as required.
  • Ability to provide formal and/or informal training to project teams.
  • Responsible for ensuring that data updates have proper compliance review and approval to ensure they comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Document existing processes and new processes as required.

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

  • Oracle SQL Developer
  • Oracle SQL*Plus
  • Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT or related field or Equivalent Experience
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and PHP are recommended
  • Extensive experience in creating database queries and scripts to manipulate data.
  • Data modeling experience is a plus

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office environment, in an individual work station, using telephone and computer.  Employee is required to work evenings and weekends as required.
